1. What can I upload?

Any video that you own the rights to and doesn’t violate our terms of service.

2. What format do you accept?

We accept all video file formats. Most common formats are: .mov, .flv, .mp4, .avi

3. Are there any file size restrictions?

We have a 10 MB file size limit. If you have something larger that you need to upload, please send an email to upload@vuclip.com and we will do our best to help.

4. Who do I notify if I see a video in violation of Vuclip’s Terms of Service?

Please email: copyrightagent@vuclip.com with a link to the video in question.

5. When will I find out if my video is uploaded successfully?

We will email you back with a Vuclip link as soon as we process the video.

Oscar Survey Results!

We know Vuclip users love movies. So what better way to have some Oscar fun than to see how good you guys could guess the outcome of the 2012 Oscar winners! So many of you voted, it took us extra long to crunch all the numbers!

After seeing the results, it’s pretty clear Vuclip users are independent, free thinkers :) While we might not have hit a perfect score in predicting the winners, there is no doubt that all of the nominees weren’t talented and entertaining.

The First Annual Clippie Awards!

Vuclip is excited to announce our very first awards, The 2011 Clippie Awards. You, our Vuclip users, will be picking which nominated clips deserve to call themselves the best.

Pick your favorite clip in categories such as “Best Music Clip” or “Funniest Clip” in four divisions: India, U.S., Venezuela and Global. Voting in all divisions is open to all. You may vote as often as you like until voting closes New Years Eve - December 31st. Winning clips will be announced in mid-January. Don’t forget to tell your friends to vote by sharing your activity through the Facebook and Twitter share icons! Make sure the clip you want to win gets all the votes it can!

Occupy Vuclip - Protest Coverage

Last week, we at Vuclip introduced the Occupy Vuclip page, focused upon delivering highlighted and aggregate videos covering the international occupy movement to users in a mobile friendly format. We’re already seeing a lot of engagement from users in the United States, Middle East and Europe.

90,000 Fans: One Milestone To The Next!

Here at Vuclip we have a strong interest in our community and one of the key methods we interact with the community is through social media. As a result we passed the 90,000 Fan milestone on our Facebook page earlier this month (pretty cool!), and we wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for your continued support for and interest in Vuclip!

Vuclip Secures $8M in Series C Funding From NEA and JAFCO; Video Views Surpass Two Billion

Today we are very excited to be announcing two landmarks in our progress as a company; firstly we have secured $8 million in Series C funding from New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Jafco Ventures. We appreciate working with these top tier partners and enjoy their ongoing professional as well as fiscal support.

We are using the funds raised to invest in the back end development and technology which keeps Vuclip ahead of the game – we currently transcode mobile videos for more than 5,400 devices! We are also working on further improvements to our analytics tools for our carriers, advertisers, and content partners.

The second piece of exciting news is that we have passed the 2 billion mark in the number of video views served since we started Vuclip in 2007. One of the most fascinating parts of my job is observing the virality of different mobile videos. You can discover the anatomy of a viral video and how fast it traveled here.

The past couple of months have seen a lot of interest both in breaking news such as the tsunami in Japan, and lighter hearted watching of fun videos like the two babies talking, or the UK Royal Wedding. Naturally there were high levels of Vuclipping by cricket fans watching the cricket world cup and the IPL championships. But as well as the big hits, there’s the long tail of videos shared person to person across the 200 countries where people use Vuclip. A Vuclip Valentine

Love was in the air as Valentine’s Day visited Vuclip. Our users opened their hearts and sent videos to their special someone. One of the most popular videos this year was a video we presented on our special Valentine’s greeting page. The teddy bears of “Flying Love Hearts” charmed over 400,000 mobile users as people around the world turned to video to express their feelings. Two videos from Latin America hugged the screen tight with their messages of love — both “Un Mensaje en Amor y Amistad” (A Message on Love and Friendship) and “Mensaje de amistad” (Message of Love) notched over 150,000 video views over the weekend.

Looking beyond the holiday, we also saw world events have a profound effect on our video views. The political crisis in Egypt spurred a variety of viral Arabic clips as users watched raw footage from the field and humorous barbs thrown at their (former) leaders. 2010 was a banner year for Vuclip as growth accelerated at a rapid pace. We smashed the video view goals we set for ourselves for 2010 and look to continue delivering an unmatched experience for mobile users worldwide in 2011.

Our global reach is evident as we reflect and look back at our top 20 videos of the year. The most-watched videos are a fascinating mix of serious, humorous, and naughty clips that transcended language barriers. While the tail of videos watched on Vuclip remains long and strong, the videos listed below rose up and made us take notice. It’s a heady blend of international flavor that demonstrates exactly how we move megabytes (and terabytes!) of data around the world. Hope you’ll enjoy this interesting look back…

Vuclip Trends - September's Hottest Mobile Videos

September was another huge month for Vuclip. Video views grew at a blazing pace and a few compelling videos broke from the pack and reached a mass audience of mobile users.

The month’s top video on Vuclip employed the classic “Real or fake?” angle and met with wild success. Titled “GIRL DIES (Not Fake)” — it clocked over 2 million video views in September. Because it relies on shock value and the power of sharing, it’s perfectly tailored for the mobile market. The vid was shared via BBM and Twitter by thousands of Vuclip users asking friends for a sanity check. So…was it real? Well, no. The myth was debunked on a variety of blogs.

Another video designed to shock that scored with Vuclip users was an oldie-but-goodie titled “World Largest Snake Found Dead”. This short video with a surprise ending notched over 1 million views for the month. We remember this video slithering around our offices back in early 2010, but for some reason September was the right month for this creepy video to make a splash.

With BBM becoming the way for BlackBerry users to communicate, there’s no better time for a theme song for BBM addicts. Riz’s “Ping!! Me Baby” made its debut this month and the catchy tune captivated close to a half-million BlackBerry users.

Speaking of catchy tunes, one of this month’s most popular videos featured a popular Web trend - the lip dub. Homemade vids of fans singing along to popular tunes have gained popularity over the last couple of years. This month’s stars are two talented kids calling themselves “The Wang and Only” and their version of “Nothing on You” by B.O.B. captivated Vuclip users.

A final trend worth noting was the popularity of political videos from Venezuela. Two videos from the embattled country wound up in our top ten for the month. Prior to the September 26th elections, the drive to get out the vote led “No Votes, o Si?” past the million views mark. After the votes were counted in the controversial elections, a video of an intrepid reporter asking President Hugo Chavez a few pointed questions also scored big with Vuclip users in Venezuela.

Justin Bieber is NOT 51 years old

Over the past day, we’ve seen intense interest in a video of a news broadcast exposing Justin Bieber as a 51-year-old man. It’s been watched about 500,000 times in the last day and shows no signs of slowing down.

Most of the folks watching the video are in Indonesia and are unfamiliar with the nefarious ways of The Onion. We’ve seen about 500 tweets of the video in the past 24 hours and most of the tweets are a variation of the question: “Real or Fake?!”

Some of the tweets indicate that the news is real.

However, we are here to tell you that the story is FAKE. A joke. Totally 100% false. The Onion and Onion News Network are pure satire cooked up by some of America’s finest comic minds. For further information on the famous parody paper, check its Wikipedia page — there’s even a section on incidents where their stories were taken seriously.

Justin Bieber is still just a talented teen. No more, no less. Please return to your normal video watching activities.
